Roger J. Huckstep


Roger J. Huckstep, 62, of Slinger, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.

He was born Dec. 8, 1947 in Milwaukee to Frank and Elaine (nee Klein) Huckstep. He was united in marriage to Barbara A. Blood on April 12, 1969 at Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church.

Roger was employed as a Maintenance Electrician Manager at Rexnord, Navistar, and Premier Aluminum for many years. He was a firefighter and EMT with the Hartland Fire Department for 14 years and served as Captain for five years. Roger was also a WIAA football referee for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three sons, Eric (Linda) Huckstep of Oconomowoc, Kevin (Amy) Huckstep of East Troy, and Brian (Katrina) Huckstep of Hartford; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Krista, Joey, Kayla, Abby, Cal, Case, and Devon; his mother, Elaine Huckstep of Milwaukee; two sisters, Karen (Rob) Ware of Milwaukee, and Sandy (Curt) Gemmel of Milwaukee; a brother-in-law, Tom (Laura) Blood of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Huckstep.

Funeral services in remembrance of Roger will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2881 Division Rd., Jackson. The Rev. Paul Mittermaier will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. on Tuesday until the time of services.
