Arleus J. Wegner, 93
Arleus J. Wegner of Fox Lake, Ill., formerly of Grafton, passed away peacefully at the Paradise Park Assisted Living Facility in Fox Lake, Ill., on June 22, 2010, at the age of 93 years.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. A visitation was held prior to the funeral service at the church from 10 a.m. to noon. The Rev. Christopher Navurskis officiated the service. Interment took place at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Arleus was born on Feb. 21, 1917, in Viola to Abner and Zelpha (nee Williams) Gochenaur. She was one of 13 children who were raised on the family farm in Viola. At the age of 13, Arleus moved to Grafton to live with her older sister, Eva. Arleus graduated from Grafton High School where she met and later married her one true love, Carl W. Wegner Sr., on Aug. 5, 1939, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. Their marriage was blessed with three children.
Arleus was a longtime active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church and served on the Women’s Guild. She also worked as the bookkeeper for the family business, Wegner-Hinz Chrysler Plymouth, International Truck Dealership, which was owned by her husband, Carl. Arleus constantly thought of others and quietly helped those in need in her community.
Arleus is survived by her children, Penny (Rich) Stueber and Jim (Jane) Wegner. She is further survived by eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arleus was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Wegner Sr., her son, Bill Wegner, and her parents.
