Harold J. Wiedmeyer, 98
Harold J. Wiedmeyer, 98, died on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend.
Harold was born on June 11, 1912, in Theresa, to the late Frank and Rose (nee Hug) Wiedmeyer. He farmed all his life in the town of Theresa. On June 7, 1939, he was united in marriage to Florence M. Steger at St. Theresa Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing spirited games of sheepshead and skat with his brothers-in-law and relatives at get-togethers. Harold spent many hard hours making wood products and woodworking including four-story birdhouses. During his retirement, he supervised deer hunting on the farm and also sized rug remnants for his wife’s rug-making.
Harold is survived by his wife, Florence, of 71 years; 10 children, Patricia (Walter) Kubicek, Phyllis (Stanley) Puls, James (Marie) Wiedmeyer, all of Slinger, Shirley (Jerome) Konrath of Mesa, Ariz., Kenneth (Rayola) Wiedmeyer of Iron Ridge, Fred (Diana) Wiedmeyer of Menomonee Falls, Larry (special friend, Mary) Wiedmeyer of West Bend, Deborah (Frank) Mazza of Bridport, Vt., Marty (Peggy) Wiedmeyer of Theresa, and Leon (Yi Hong) Wiedmeyer of Fond Du Lac; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Wiedmeyer of Theresa. He is further survived by 38 grandchildren, Steven (Nan) Kubicek, Stanley (Susan) Kubicek, Daniel (Robin) Kubicek, James (Mary) Kubicek, William (Nancy) Kubicek, Cindy (Dave) Halfmann, Lorrie Kubicek (Kimberly), Ricky (Karen) Kubicek, Brian (Jane) Kubicek, Kristine Puls, Jeffrey (Kim) Puls, Michelle (Andrew) Strupp, Timothy Wiedmeyer, Angela Mason, Gary (Wendy) Wiedmeyer, Catherine Zabel, Julie (Richard) Gedemer, Nathan Wiedmeyer, Connie (Joshua) Phelan, Ryan Wiedmeyer, Tammy (James) Kimmel, Victoria Konrath, Allison Konrath, AnnMarie (Steve) Kenyon, Craig (Mary) Wiedmeyer, Cory Wiedmeyer, Rick Wiedmeyer, Michael Wiedmeyer, Jason Wiedmeyer, Samara Wiedmeyer, Gregory Wiedmeyer, Leslie (Nick) Hasby, Kristin Wiedmeyer, Sonia Cormier, James Wiedmeyer, Andrea Wiedmeyer, Tyler Wiedmeyer and Zackary Wiedmeyer; two step-grandchildren, Katrina and Jamie Gallipeau; 40 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Alice (Wilmer) Herman, Teresa Hembel, Rita Wiesner, Mildred Weiland and Rosemary Bonlender; and three sisters-in-law, Clara Pike, Bernice Wiedmeyer and Olive Steger. Harold is further survived by other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by two sons, Walter and Andrew Wiedmeyer; grandson, Brad Wiedmeyer; three brothers, Leonard, Frank and Raymond Wiedmeyer; sister, Hilda Brodzeller; five brothers-in-law, Gilbert Brodzeller, John Hembel, Norbert Weiland, Marvin Bonlender and Leonard Steger.
A Mass of Christian burial for Harold will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 102 Church St., Theresa with the Rev. Rick Stoffel presiding. Visitation will be at the church only from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Inurnment will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Nenno.
