Marion Ritha Bode, 73

Marion Ritha Bode (nee Kasten) left this world on Feb. 25, 2010, to rest in peace in the arms of her Savior.

Marion was born on Jan. 3, 1937, in Milwaukee to Clarence and Florence Kasten, who have both preceded her in death. She lived in Cedarburg for the first 62 years of her life. She met, dated and fell in love with Daniel Thomas Bode and they were married on June 15, 1957, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.

Dan and Marion moved to Canon City, Colo., in 1998 where they were active members of the Shepherd of the Hills Church. In 2002, they moved to Colorado Springs and bought a home. They joined Prince of Peace Church where Marion was an active member of the church, serving in the choir, as a money counter and in the Womenís Ministries among various other activities.
Marion loved life. It was difficult to find her without a smile. Her relationship with her Lord and Savior was key to her life. She loved her family and treasured time with her grandchildren. She loved to cross-stitch and continually made beautiful things for others. She also loved to cook and bake, especially if she could make something to brighten someoneís day. She was always looking for ways to brighten another personís day.

She is survived by her four children, Dawn (Darcy) Ludwig in Woodbury, Minn.; Dean (Connie) Bode in Allenton; Dwight (Sue) Bode in Grafton; and Denise (Greg) Depies in Fredonia. She is also survived by three sisters, Jean (Bill) Stoll, Clarice Kasten and Barbara (Charles) Mann; and her eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Womenís Ministries, 4720 Galley Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80915 or Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, CO, 80903.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 Washington Ave, Grafton. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., with the service at 2 p.m.
