Susan Jayne Violette (nee Horning)


Susan Jayne Violette (nee Horning), 47, of West Bend, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2010, at Community Memorial Hospital.

Susan was born on June 21, 1962, to James and Betty Jayne (nee Karolus) Horning in New Berlin. She graduated from Waukesha County Technical Institute with a degree in Computer Operations. Susan married Jim Violette on Nov. 24, 1990, in East Hartford, Conn. She held positions as a computer operator for FunJet Travel in Milwaukee and Bronson & Hutensky in Hartford, Conn., she also held an administrative position at Lynn Dairy in central Wisconsin. Most notably she was proud of the positions she held as administrative assistant for two pastors, daycare director, adult Sunday school teacher, head of children’s ministries and other church related positions. Susan held ministerial credentials in Wisconsin and was an active member of First Assembly of God in East Hartford, Conn., and Neillsville Assembly of God in Neillsville. She was the head of the jail ministry for a short time at the Clark County Jail in Neillsville. Although she held secular jobs, her passion was for ministry and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Before getting ill, she attended Community Church in West Bend.

Susan is survived by her husband Jim, parents Jim and Betty Horning, siblings Lisa (Jeff) Korotko of Oshkosh, Steve (Angie) Horning of Hartford, Karen (Ron) Williams of Menomonee Falls, grandchildren Nathaniel and Madison Kingsley. She is further survived by her father-in-law Roland Violette, step daughter Lynn (Rev. Bill) Kingsley, stepson Ron Violette, sisters-in-law Lorraine Curran, Jacqueline Violette, numerous nephews, nieces and grand-nieces, other family members and many special friends in Connecticut and Wisconsin.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Frederick and Irene Karolus, Paul and Eleanor Horning, mother-in-law Pauline Violette, and other loving aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Community Church of West Bend with Pastor Doug Jerred officiating. Visitation will be at the church only on Tuesday, March 9, from 5 p.m. until time of service (7 p.m.).
