LeRoy A. Wolter

LeRoy A. Wolter passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, at the age of 79.
LeRoy was born on July 6, 1930, and raised in Cudahy, Alexander and Anna (nee Fon) Wolter.

LeRoy was a graduate of Cudahy High School, UW- Milwaukee and UWMadison. He served in the US Army during the Korean War as a member of the Fifth Army Band. He taught instrumental music in Lodi for one year and Oshkosh for 31 years.

LeRoy is survived by his wife Dorothy (nee Dahlke), children Mark (Debbie) Wolter of Palm Bay, Fla., Gary (Diana) Wolter of Columbus, Ohio, Dale (Ruth) Wolter of DeForest, and Linda Yost of Oshkosh, grandchildren Valerie and Matthew Yost, Kendall and Casey Wolter, step-children Larry (Dawn) Strutz and Mike (Vicky) Freund and step-grandchildren LaChelle Strutz and Dayna and Nicole Freund. He is further survived by brother David of New Albany, Ind., and numerous cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Dolores (nee Kannenberg), brother Donald Wolter, and stepson Terry Strutz.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Shep-herd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1350 Highway 175, Richfield, with Rev. Jay R. Thorson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10, at the church only from 10 a.m. until time of services (1 p.m.). Military honors to follow service. Burial will be Thursday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at Brooks Cemetery in the Town of Vinland.

Memorials in LeRoy's name appreciated to Shepherd of the Hills Church or the Cancer Research Center at Froedtert for Leukemia Research.
