Jerome L. Ovrid


Jerome L. Ovrid of Hartford passed away Wednesday March 10, 2010, at the age of 76.

He was born Feb. 12, 1934, in Hatton, N.D., the son of Theodore and Mary (nee Thompson) Ovrid.

Jerome served his country in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He retired from Broan-NuTone after 39 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and his smaller version of trackers and trains. Jerome enjoyed playing his accordion and guitar.

Jerome is preceded in death by his son Gerald in 2007, his parents and his two brothers and sister.

He is survived by Virginia (nee Huus) Ovrid of Hartford, his children; Wendy Nighbor of West Bend, Judy Williams of Hartford, Jody Ovrid of Hartford and Ericka Ovrid of Theresa. Also surviving are his sisters Frances Ehert of Arizona, Olive Offerdahl of ND and his brother Gordon (Doris) Ovrid of North Dakota, grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Saturday March 13, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home-Hartford. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Dean Nattersad will officiate. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
