Kathleen “Kathy” Jo Fichtner (nee Knight)


Kathleen “Kathy” Jo Fichtner (nee Knight), 51, of Hartford, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at her home.

Kathy was born Jan. 22, 1959, in Milwaukee to Gerald and Josephine (nee Guttuso) Knight. Kathy was united in marriage to Peter Fichtner on Feb. 10, 1979, at Holy Redeemer in Milwaukee.

Kathy loved to volunteer at the Albrecht Free Clinic. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and fine dining. She was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and the Duke Blue Devils.

She is survived by her husband Peter; her children Jeremy and Samantha, both of Hartford; her grandchild Joel Wynkoop of Galesburg, Ill.; her brother William (Gale) Knight of Brown Deer; her brother-in-law, Robert (Penny) Fichtner of Richfield; and her sister-in-law, Christine (Scott) Buffalo of San Diego, Calif. Kathy is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her children Jessica and Adam Fichtner.

Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4886 Highway 175, St. Lawrence, with Fr. Joseph Dominic officiating. Visitation will be at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford, on Monday, March 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday morning, March 16, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kathy Hospice in West Bend are appreciated.
