Bernice A. Scheunemann, 87


Bernice A. Scheunemann (nee Schwandner), 87, of West Bend, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.

She was born on June 15, 1922, to the late William and Emma (nee Holthusen) Schwandner in the town of Brillion.


On Sept. 1, 1945, Bernice was united in marriage to Erwin A. Scheunemann at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. Together they lived and worked on Erwinís family homestead farm in the town of Jackson. They retired from farming in 1995.

Bernice was a member of St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erwin; a brother, Ralph Schwandner; two sisters-in-law, Elma (George) Haas, and Doris (Don) Jennings; and a brother-inlaw, Wilmer Scheunemann.

Funeral services in honor of Bernice will be held on Saturday, March 20, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., West Bend. The Rev. Rob Donaldson will officiate and burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Brillion. Visitation will be Friday at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday at the church at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

She leaves behind many loving family members including three children, Roger (Deborah) Scheunemann of Lomira, Ruth Ann Scheunemann of West Bend and Roy (Cynthia) Scheunemann of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; two grandchildren, Sara Scheunemann of Marian, Ind., and Jarrod (Jessica) Scheunemann of Champagne, Ill.; one great-granddaughter, Cadence Rose Scheunemann; nieces, nephews and friends.
