Walter J. Hochmuth, 72

Walter J. Hochmuth, 72, of the town of Polk, died on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at The Kathy Hospice after a short battle with lung cancer.

He was born on May 30, 1937, in Milwaukee to the late Walter and Ruth (nee Monday) Hochmuth. Walter grew up in Hartland, where he attended Swallow Grade School and graduated from the former Hartland High School. After his marriage to Mary J. Kassuba on June 27, 1957, in North Lake, the couple moved to Milwaukee where they lived until moving to the West Bend area in 1982.

He was the founder of MJM Screen Print and Embroidery Studio in Menomonee Falls and was proud that it is still family-owned and operated today. Even following his retirement, he remained an active part of the business. For the past five years, he dedicated himself to caring for his wife, Mary, who remains at home, as she suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Survivors include his wife; five children, John, Michael (Trisha), Ann (Michael) Contrino, Timothy (Michelle) and Thomas (Stacy); three grandchilren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Barbara Hochmuth and Joanne Bruning; other relatives and friends.

Private family services were held. The family has requested memorials to The Kathy Hospice, 3232 Pleasant Valley Road, West Bend, WI 53095.
