Wallace W. Viesselmann, 86

A funeral service will be held today, March 30, 2010, at 7 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grafton for Wallace W. “Wally” Viesselmann, of Grafton who died at Lasata Care Center on March 27, 2010, at the age of 86.  Visitation will be at the church today from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m.  Interment will be at the church cemetery.

Wally was born in Grafton on June 27, 1923, the son of Louis and Martha (nee Mueller) Viesselmann.  Wally was united in marriage on Oct. 18, 1947, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church on Pleasant Valley Road to Bernice (nee Ciriacks).

Wally served his country in the U.S. Navy from March 19, 1945, to July 31, 1946.  Wally was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling and golf.

Wally is survived by his wife, Bernice; sons, Michael (Mari Lea)Viesselmann, Mark (Carol) Viesselmann and Glenn (Tami) Viesselmann;  grandchildren, Heather (David) Edge, Jessica (Alejandro) Martinez, Justin Viesselmann, Shawn (Gretchen) Viesselmann, Audra (John Westbrooke, Jeremy Viesselmann, Jena Viesselmann and Kate Viesselmann. He is further survived by 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Ciriacks; brother-in-law, Art (Louise) Ciriacks; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hulda (Gil) Obbink and Lucille (Herb) Schmalz; a brother, Robert (Ruth) Viesselmann; and brother-in-law, Carl Ciriacks.
