Matthew Malkowski, 18


Matthew Malkowski of Grafton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 30, 2010, at the age of 18.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, May 6, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton at 7 p.m. A visitation will be held today, at the church from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Matthew was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 14, 1992, to David and Janine (nee Porte) Malkowski.  He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic Grade School in Grafton, and was due to graduate from Grafton High School in June.
Matthew was a member of the Grafton Fire Department and was also due to graduate from fire school. His plans were to attend the University of Concordia in Chicago in the fall to not only play football, but to attend their E.M.S. program with hopes of becoming a firefighter in a major metropolitan city.
Matthew was a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was also a one-time member of the Grafton Little League. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, volleyball, rugby, soccer and playing basketball.  Matthew played on the Grafton High School football team where he was named offensive player of the year, and honorable mention, in the North Shore Conference, as a wide receiver. Matthew also played on the Grafton High School baseball team as an outfielder.

Matthew is the cherished son of David and Janine Malkowski, big brother and best friend of Emily Malkowski, grandson of Sylvester Malkowski, and special godson of Deneen Wanta and Mark Malkowski. He is further survived by his puppies, Shola and Freckles, aunts, uncles, cousins and loving Friends.
Matthew was preceded in death by grandparents, June Malkowski, Myrtle Porte and Oliver Porte.
