Pierre Braun, 81

Pierre Braun of Grafton.  took a peaceful journey on the glorious road to heaven on April 29, 2010.

Pierre was born in Budapest on Aug. 9, 1928.  He was the loving husband of Kathleen Z. Braun (nee Zajicek); dear father of Michele, Pierre Rene, and the late Michael (Dawn);  fond grandfather of Michael (Katharine), Lea (Craig) Denny, and Richard (Jazmine) Oliva;  brother of the late Erzebet and Marta; and brother-in-law of George Zajicek. He is also survived by his delightful three great-grandchildren.

Pierre arrived in the United States from France in 1947 and was a proud member of the U.S. Marines from 1951 to 1953.  He worked for General Steamship Co. and the American Appraisal Co.  An avid photographer, Pierre was a member of the Photo Pictorialists of Milwaukee, the Photographic Society of America (PSA), and a founding member of the Wisconsin PSA Chapter.  He also did photography for the News Graphic in Ozaukee County and North Shore Lifestyle magazine.

A memorial service celebrating Pierre's life will be held at Fox Point Lutheran Church, 7510 North Santa Monica Blvd., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, preceded by visitation from 10 a.. to 11 a.m.  Pierre's body was donated to the Medical College of Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, which provided such wonderful care during Pierre's battle with cancer, or a charity of your choice.
