Charlotte "Char" Kison, 61, died on Thursday May 6, 2010 at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend.
Char was born in the town of Polk, Wisconsin on Oct. 25, 1948 the daughter of Benjamin and Doris Schmidt.
Char was united in marriage on Oct. 5, 1980 at Peace United Church of Christ in Jackson to Rodney Kison. They were blessed with a son, Jonathan.
Char was a first grade teacher for two years and then became a kindergarten teacher for the next 34 years in the Germantown School District.
She was very active at David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church as a Sunday School teacher, teachers aide, Ladies Aid, member of the mixed choir and a leader in a women's bible study group and many other church events.
Char enjoyed singing and sang for many weddings and funerals. She also enjoyed volunteering at Christian Life Resources, gardening, flowers and has an extensive collection of Longaberger baskets.
Those Char leaves behind to cherish her memories include her loving and caring husband Rod; son Jonathan; parents Benjamin and Doris Schmidt; sister Gail (Dan) Filzen; brother Keith Schmidt; mother-in-law Lorain and the late Herbert Kison; brothers-in-law Chuck (Donna), Denny (Kathy), Terry (Lisa), Randy (Patty), Jim (Lisa Marie) and Keith (Cathy) Kison.
He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:15 p.m. on Monday May 10, at David's Star Ev. Lutheran Church, located at 2740 David's Star Drive, Jackson. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 10 at church. Interment will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday May 11 at David's Star Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to David's Star Ev. Lutheran School, Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School or The Kathy Hospice.

Also thank you to the nursing staff at 3NT at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital and The Kathy Hospice for their wonderful care of Char.
