Wallace W. Hoffmann, 93


Wallace W. Hoffmann of Reinbeck, Iowa, formerly of Cedarburg, died April 28, 2010, at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Reinbeck.

He was born Sept. 28, 1916, in Wisconsin, the son of Emma (Klotz) and F. August Hoffmann. He graduated from Cedarburg High School.  He married Eleanor Wiegert Aug. 17, 1946. She preceded him in death in April 2009. Wallace served in the 511th Parachute Infantry from 1941 to 1945, serving in the Pacific Theater. Wallace served the city of Cedarburg for 28 years as a patrolman and later police chief. He later worked as a Security Supervisor at St. Michaelís Hospital.

Wallace was a lifetime member of the Wisconsin Police Chiefís Association and a member of American Legion Post 242 in Reinbeck.
He is survived by three children, Jim (Nancy) Hoffmann of Glendale, Ariz., Anne Campbell of River Falls, and Sharon (Dale) Wambold of Reinbeck; four grandchildren, Eric (Jenn) Hoffmann, Kara (David) Vowell, Dave (Angela) Wambold, Sarah (Jason Kerns) Wambold; and two great-grandchildren, Logan Vowell and Gwenna Rae Wambold.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother, LeRoy, and his sister, Roma Allen.

Visitation will be at Faith Lutheran Church, N35 W6621 Wilson St., Cedarburg, on Friday, May 14 at 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. Interment with full military honors will be at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg on Saturday at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Faith Lutheran Church.
