Barbara J. Schaenzer, 75


Barbara J. Schaenzer of Mequon, who was born on March 3, 1935, to Omer Weidman and Lucille Zasada Weidman, was born to eternal life May 8, 2010, age 75.

She was the beloved wife of Gordon Schaenzer;  dear mother of David (Louise), Mark (Susan), Brian (Joan) Schaenzer, LuAnn (Trey) Litton, Carol Smith and Matthew (Amy) Schaenzer; the loving grandmother of Brianna, Megan, Sara, John, Katie, Karl, Bennett, Bradley, Allie, Kelcee, Rachel, Christopher and Benjamin; and  fond sister of James Weidman, Mary Kolander and William (Marcia) Weidman. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Barbara attended Holy Redeemer Grade School and Messmer High School.  She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee  and her masterís from Cardinal Stritch University.  Barbara was an avid bike rider with numerous bike trips in the United States and Europe. She was a Master Gardner and a founding member of the Advocates of Ozaukee County. Barbara was a member of the Logemann Community Center board of directors and she started the volunteer program at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 13 at 9:30 a.m. at Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, 423 N. Main St. Thiensville, with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Mequon. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 12 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
