Marion Gross, 86


Marion Gross, 86, of 1442 Cedar Creek Parkway, Grafton, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon. She was born Sept. 26, 1923, in Cedarburg, the daughter of  Harry and Viola Schultz Mixdorf. Marion was a graduate of Cedarburg High School. On May 22, 1948, she married Dennis Gross at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Thiensville. She worked as the receptionist for Dr. Henry J. Katz in Cedarburg for 37 years. Marion and Dennis traveled the world, enjoying seven cruises and seeing much of the United States. Marion enjoyed spending time with her friends in a snowmobile club and card clubs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and cross stitch.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her brother, Wayne (Sue) Mixdorf of Oregon, Wis.; her stepmother, Gertrude Mixdorf of Cedarburg; two stepbrothers, Ronald (Diane) Butt of Mukwonago and Richard (Karen) Butt of Nashotah; his sister in law, Mary (Donald) Cisewski of Belgium, Wis.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stanley and Mary Gross; her brother, Wilmer Mixdorf; and sister-in-law, Anne Mixdorf.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday evening, May 14 at 6 p.m.. at St. Francis Borgia-South Church, N44 W6055 Hamilton Road, Cedarburg, with Father Dan Janasik officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation at the church will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
