Rachel Best, 32, of Campbellsport fell asleep peacefully in the loving arms of her husband, Curt, her son, Coda, and her aunt, Chris, on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at her residence. She was surrounded by the love of her family following a yearlong battle with melanoma.
She was born Feb. 7, 1978, in West Bend and married Curtis L. Best on May 19, 2000, in Fond du Lac.
Rachel lived life to the fullest. She loved riding with Curt on their Harley, but nothing was greater then her love for her children. Rachel left behind many friends and family who will miss her “spit fire” attitude in her capacity as social director at Bahr Time in Elmore and the 5th Quarter in Kewaskum as well as social butterfly at Kissy’s in Kewaskum.
She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Curt, and three children, Dakota, Sydney and Mason. She is further survived by her parents, Cynthia Rosbeck of West Bend and Arthur (Eileen) Kreis of Campbellsport; her mother-in-law, Shirley Kriehn of West Bend; her paternal grandmother, Louise Kreis of Kewaskum; and her maternal grandparents, Norb and Sharon Rosbeck of West Bend and Frank and Dolores Bruni of West Bend. Rachel is also survived by her siblings, Jeremy (Candice) Kreis of Campbellsport, Andy Kreis of Fond du Lac, Mike Kreis of Theresa, Alicia Kreis of Campbellsport, Ben “Beaner” Kreis of Campbellsport and Samantha Kreis of Campbellsport; her sisters-in-law, Cindy Meeker of Eden and Corinne (Bob) Oberst of Grafton; her Godparents, Kathy and Victor Fronek of Kewaskum; and three very special aunts, Chris Wanke of Allenton, Laurie Gremonprez of West Bend and Kristina Rosbeck of the town of Erin; other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many special friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandpa, Arthur Kreis Sr.; and two uncles, David Kreis and Frank Kreis.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 17, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with the Rev. Cheryl Matusiak officiating.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. until 6:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials for the benefit of Rachel’s children are appreciated.
