John A. Biersack

John A. Biersack, 82, of West Bend, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 30, 1927, in Barton to the late John and Anna (nee Neuy) Biersack and married Jean Wolf on June 9, 1951, at Holy Angels Church. Jean preceded him in death on April 25, 1989.

John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he was employed at West Bend Transit as a truck driver.

He enjoyed helping neighbors as a handyman and, in his spare time, he liked to relax with his pipe and go fishing.

John was a member of the West Bend Lodge No. 1398 Loyal Order of the Moose and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include his four sisters-in-law, Mary Biersack of the town of Barton, Charlotte Biersack of West Bend, Carol Schaefer of West Bend and Patricia Schaefer of Arkansas; two brothers-in-law, Bill Wolf of Milwaukee and Robert (Florence) Wolf of West Bend; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Biersack; his wife, Jean; four brothers, Victor (Elvira), Jerome (Minerva), Leonard and Robert; and three sisters, Ernestine (Ed) Knoeck, Delores (Ed) Gundrum and Leona (Joe) Langenecker.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, May 17, 2010, at 7 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend with the Rev. Nathan Reesman presiding. Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, at the church only, from 5 p.m. until 6:45 p.m.
