Marcella A. Hosp, 99, of Stratford, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at House of the Dove Hospice Home, Marshfield.
Marcella was born on Oct. 22, 1910 in Brownsville, the daughter of Mathias and Barbara (nee Weber) Kedinger. On June 27, 1933, she married Edward Hosp at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Nabob. They lived near Allenton and had one son, Raymond, who was born on Nov. 25, 1935, and he passed away on Feb. 13, 1962.
Marcella worked at Amity Leather Company in West Bend for 17 years. After her retirement she and her husband, Edward, traveled to various places and countries. Her husband passed away in April 1972, and in September of 1972, Marcella moved to the Stratford area. She was active in the homemakers club and loved baking and crocheting. She was a wonderful grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by a former daughter-in-law, Doris LeVoy, and son-in-law, Lester (Betty) Krahn, all of Stratford. She is also survived by grandchildren, Rita Krahn of Marshfield, Linda (Mark) Roohr of Owen and Sandy Wellner of Stratford. She is further survived by greatg r a n d ch i l d re n , Chuck (Am-ber) Knetter of Audubon, Minn., Ashley Knetter of Fargo, N.D., Anthony and Michael Burghaus of Owen and Haley and Jessica Wellner of Stratford; by great-great-grandchildren, Landon Hamberg and Pyper Knetter.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son; brothers, Arthur (Pearl), Sylvester (Margie) and Joseph (Dorothy) Kedinger; and two sisters, Gertrude (Clarence) Schickert and Margaret (Cornelius) Brodzeller.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford. The Rev. Thomas Rudolph will officiate and St. Joseph’s Resurrection Choir will provide music for the service. Burial will take place in St. Mathias Cemetery, town of West Bend. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford. Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
