Andrew J. Beck, 60
Andrew
J. Beck, 60, of Hilbert, died on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at his home in
Hilbert.
He was born July 22, 1950, in West Bend, son of the late Eugene and
Rosalie (nee Heindle) Beck. Andy married Charlotte Poler on Aug. 19, 1972,
in West Bend. He graduated from Marquette University with a degree in
mechanical engineering and worked for Bucyrus-Erie in Milwaukee, MB
Company in Chilton and Voith Paper in Appleton before retiring in 2006.
Following his graduation from college, Andy served his country in the U.S.
Army Reserves. Although Andy was a mechanical engineer, he loved
woodworking, carpentry work and tinkering with things that needed to be
fixed or just improved. He was quite the handyman who liked to get
projects started and made sure those projects were done perfectly – no
matter how long that may have taken. Many times his projects would be
placed on hold so that he could take time to help others with their
projects. His children knew that he was always a reliable and trustworthy
resource whenever a new task began. He will always be remembered as a
dedicated husband, a caring father and a proud, proud grandpa.
Survivors include his wife. Charlotte; two children, Gene Beck
(significant other, Lori) of Sherwood and Larry (Amy) Beck of Appleton;
five grandchildren, Olivia, Natalie, Madelyn, Elliott and Skyler; and
three sisters, Sister Mary Beck and Sister Rose Beck of Mt. Calvary, and
Kathy Krans of West Bend. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; and a
brother-in-law, Richard Krans.
Funeral service will be at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at the
Wieting Family Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St., in Chilton. Friends may call
at the funeral home from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3,
2010, when the service will be held.
