Catherine F. Strassburg, 83
Catherine F. Strassburg, 83, formerly of
Campbellsport passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Hope Health and Rehab
Center in Lomira, where she has been a resident the last number of years.
She was born in Campbellsport on July 9, 1927, the daughter of the late
Peter and Celia Raidy Hahn. On Aug. 25, 1948, she married Ralph Strassburg
at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport where she was a
lifelong member and a member of the Christian Women. Catherine enjoyed
baking, telling jokes, gardening, traveling and collecting salt and pepper
shakers. She also loved music (she played the trombone) and enjoyed the
simple things in life. Catherine led rosary services during her time at
Hope.
Survivors include her children, James (Romayne) of Pewaukee, Mary
Schroeder of West Bend, Bob (Sharon) of Campbellsport, Susan (Lee)
McGinnis of Chestertown, Md., Barbara (Steven) Kujawski of Fond du Lac,
Charles (Deborah) of Kewaskum and Joseph (Tara) of Campbellsport; her
grandchildren, James Jr., Katrina, Robert Jr., Kelly (Edward) Wolk,
Tracey, Tammy, Sean, Casey, Kaliee, Brent (Julie), Adam and Andrew; her
great-grandchildren, Matilyn, Caleb and Madalynn; her brother, Oscar Hahn
of Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her son, William; her
son-in-law, Elroy Schroeder; her brothers, Joseph, Jerome and Louis; and
her sisters, Clara and Irene.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 18, from 4 p.m. until time of Mass at
the St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Campbellsport. A Mass of Christian
burial will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at St. Matthew’s
Catholic Church in Campbellsport. The Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate
and burial will be Friday in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Campbellsport.
