Richard A. Keyes Sr., 73
Richard A. Keyes Sr., 73, of West Bend,
passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Cedar Bay West.
He was born Oct. 18, 1937, in Bluefield, W.V., to the late Olin P. and
Ocie (nee Boyd) Keyes Sr. He graduated from Beaver High School in the
class of 1955. Richard served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine
Corps for nine years. Richard was united in marriage to Joyce Breitwisch
on Nov. 21, 1964, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. In 1965, he
earned a civil engineering degree from Marquette University.
Richard retired in 1995 from Milwaukee County, where he was the director
of environmental engineering services.
Richard was a member of Smoky Hollow Muzzle Loaders, Menomonee Falls Rod
& Gun Club and was an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of West Bend; two sons, Richard A. Keyes
Jr. of Hales Corners and Andrew Keyes of West Bend; sister-in-law, Mary
Lou Keyes of Raleigh, N.C.; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Olin P. Keyes Jr.
Private family services will be held and burial will follow in Washington
County Memorial Park with full military honors.
Memorials in Richard’s name to the Disabled American Veterans are
appreciated by the family.
