Mary Ann Canfield, 57

Mary Ann Canfield (nee Rausch), 57, of Jackson, went home to the big fishing pond in the sky on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at her home from natural causes.

Mary Ann was born and spent her childhood in Fond du Lac and graduated from St. Maryís grade school and Goodrich High School. After high school, she lived and worked for a time in Milwaukee and most recently had lived in Jackson for the past 11 years.

Mary Ann was a lover of animals, fishing, gardening and the great outdoors. Many walleye met their fate when she fished and her muskie she caught was mounted on her wall. Through the years, a parade of animals came to reside with Mary Ann, including birds, fish, small mammals and dogs.

Mary Ann had one daughter, Nichole (Adam) Kassner; two granddaughters, Ashley and Asia, all of Milwaukee. She is also survived one sister, Suzanne Rausch; mother, Florence Schuppe, both of Fond du Lac. She also leaves behind her roommate, Mark, and her dog, Greta. Also survived by other relatives, friends and her very kind and helpful neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her father and step-father, E. Ray Schuppe; her husband, Ken Weimer; and her most beloved yellow lab, Lucy.

Uecker Witt Funeral Home of Fond du Lac is handling the cremation services. A memorial open house will follow at a later date at Mary Annís home in Jackson.

Any donations can be made to the Humane Society in Mary Annís name.
