Stephanie “Stevie” Handy (Muckerheide), 64, of Jackson, Ga., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010. She was born in Staples, Minn., on Sept. 2, 1946, a daughter of Arnold and June (Sather) Scharf.
She was a graduate of Staples High School in Minnesota and was employed as a sales representative for the American Licorice Co. On June 21, 2005, she married Bernard Muckerheide in Reno, Nev.
Stevie enjoyed traveling, cooking, working on the computer forwarding humorous messages to family and friends. She loved dogs and cats.
She is survived by her husband Bernie of Jackson, Ga.; two sons, Darren Macdonald of Illinois and Brian Macdonald of Arkansas; two sisters, Sharon Schibilla of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Stacy Lee of Tennessee; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents and fathersin-law Bernard Richardson and Clarence Muckerheide.
The family received relatives and friends at Holy Family Parish, St. Mary Church, 41 E. Merrill Ave., Fond du Lac, on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, Sept. 24, in Holy Family St. Mary Church, with burial of cremated remains at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be directed to the family.
The Zacherl Funeral Home of Fond du Lac served the family.
