Muriel K. Zettel of West Bend died on Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Riverway Place at the age of 86 years. She was born on Dec. 24, 1923, in West Bend to the late William and Nellice (nee Ulrich) Kissinger.

Following her graduation from West Bend High School in 1942, Muriel became employed at Amity Leather Products Company in the accounts payable department. In June of 1986, she retired at 44 years of service to the company.

On June 14, 1953, she was united in marriage to John F. Zettel at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. John predeceased Sept. 19, 1989.

She was a member of the 25-Year Club at Amity Leather Products, St. Joseph's Hospital Auxilliary, Ladies Auxillliary of the Adrian Neubauer Post 8658 VFW, Washington County Historical Society, life-time member of the Women of the Moose West Bend Chapter and was the treasurer of the West Bend High School Class of 1942.

She was survived by relatives and many friends, including her beloved Nutty Knitters.

She was preceded in death by a sister Grace (Richard) Allen and a sister in-law Rose Kleinhans.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial Friday in St. Mary's Cemetery (new). Visitation will be at the church only on Thursday from 4:30 until 5:45 p.m.

Memorials to the St. Mary's Endowment Fund or the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
