Lawrence M. Ruesink, 80

Lawrence M. Ruesink, 80, of Waupun went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at the Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center in Waupun.
Lawrence was born Oct. 20, 1929, in Waupun, the son of John and Esther (Prange) Ruesink. He graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 1947. After a year of college, he entered the Air Force, serving for almost four years. On Dec. 19, 1953, he was united in marriage to Irene Glewen. The couple moved to Madison, where Larry completed his degree at the University of Wisconsin.
Over the years, Larry’s job led his family to a variety of locations. He created bonds with friends and family along the way, from West Bend in 1955 to Lombard, Ill., in 1958 to Wisconsin Rapids in 1966 to Grafton in 1976 to Rocky River, Ohio in 1982; and to his final earthly home in Waupun in 1994. He enjoyed his family, playing golf, fishing and making people laugh. His commitment to his wife, family and church was clearly evident throughout his life.

Larry is survived by his wife, Irene; four children, Mike (Sherrill) Ruesink of Kalamazoo, Mich., Steve (Karleen) Ruesink of Prior Lake, Minn., Carrie (Jack) Vande Zande of West Bend, and Mark (Shari) Ruesink of Grand Blanc, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Seth, Leah, Ethan, Tim, Caleb, Ben, Margaret, Meredith, and Elizabeth; and his brother and sister-in-law, Ken (Ellen) Ruesink of Oconomowoc.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Carol Medema; and a brother-in-law, Clayton Medema.
