Leyola ‘Lee’ Weitor, 99
Leyola "Lee" T. Wietor (nee Strachota) passed away on Oct. 6,
2010, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehab Center at the age of 99 years.
Lee was born on July 31, 1911, at St. Kilian to Marie and Simon Strachota.
Lee attended St. Mary’s Springs Academy and graduated with a degree in
commerce. Lee worked at Campbellsport State Bank. Lee also worked and was
a vital part of St. Kilian’s General Store.
Lee met Al Wietor and they married in 1935. In 1955 Lee and Al moved to
Bakersfield, Calif. They came home to Wisconsin every June to visit with
family and friends and most importantly to fish on Lac Vieux Desert. Lee
was a great fisherman and was the perfect "net man" to have in
the boat. Lee and Al moved back to Wisconsin in 1971 and lived on Lac
Vieux Desert. Al passed away in 1991. The last eight years, Lee would
spend the summers in Land O’ Lakes and would winter at Cedar Ridge where
Lee was able to enjoy her favorite hobbies of bridge and sheepshead.
Lee will be dearly missed by her sister Myrtle (Al) Krejci, her brother
Orville (Marie) Strachota, Marie (Cyril) Wietor, Norma (Leo) Wietor and
many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and
nephews and friends.
Lee was pre-deceased by her husband Al, and her sisters and
brother-in-laws, Agnella Strachota, Elvira and Ray Groose, Paul and Paula
Hron, Al Krejci , Lucy and Oscar Boegel, Leo Wietor, and Cy Wietor.
