Gustave J. ‘Gus’ Suhfras, 85

Gustave J. "Gus" Suhfras of Cedarburg passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at Kathy Hospice in West Bend at the age of 85.
Gus was born in Milwaukee on Oct. 28, 1924, to Gustave H. and Eleanor (nee Haferman) Suhfras, and married Germaine (nee Ackeret) on April 23, 1949, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

Gus and Geramine were married for 61 years. Gus retired from A.O. Smith after 42 years of employment.

Gus is survived by his wife, Geramine of Cedarburg; children, Pat (Dave) Gilligan of New Berlin, Pam (Doug) Hansen of Mequon, John (Gail) Suhfras of Clark Fork, Idaho, Mary Suhfras of Cedarburg, and Cathy (Tim) Hensel of New Berlin. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Gus was preceded in death by his parents and one great-granddaughter, Madison Hansen.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church North, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg. Interment will be at the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held today, Oct. 12, at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
