Lucille Saunders, 77
Lucille
Saunders, 77, of Hartford, passed away Oct. 11, 2010.
She was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Costa and
Evmorfia (nee Tsirpas) Stenimahitis. She attended the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, where she received her bachelor of arts degree in art.
Lucille married David Saunders Nov. 6, 1965, at The Annunciation Greek
Orthodox Church in Milwaukee. She was a loving mother who touched many
people’s lives through her involvement in art. She was an art teacher
and therapist and provided counseling through AODA. Lucille maintained an
active community environment through the Schauer Arts and Activities
Center in Hartford.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband David in 2008. She is the
loving mother of Dina (George) Smith of LaGrange, Ga., and Evan (Tamara)
Saunders of Waterford. Dearest grandmother of Devon, Ashley and Andrew
Smith and Mikayla Saunders. Also surviving are other relatives and many
friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 15 from 5
p.m. to 7 p.m., with a eulogy service at 7 p.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma
Funeral Home in Hartford and Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 9400 W. Congress St.,
Milwaukee. Funeral service to follow at 9:30 a.m. at the Church. The Rev.
James Dokos will officiate. Interment Wisconsin Memorial Park.
