Lillian Flora Bretschneider (nee Sudbrink), 84, of Newburg, passed away on Aug. 31, 2010.

Beloved wife of Edwin Bretschneider. Loving mother of NolaRae (Dave) Asmus. Proud grandmother of Samantha (Jesse) Boylen, Jeremy Krueger, Justin Krueger, Angela Shepard and Linda Mahlke; step-grandchildren, Angela Asmus and David Asmus Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Dominic Boylen, Ashlynn and Alexis Krueger and Maeve Asmus. Dear sister of Harold (Vern) Sudbrink. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by daughter, Lorna Leider; son, David C. Bretschneider; brother, Martin Sudbrink; and sister, Milda (Henry) Westphal.

Lillian and Edwin used to do craft shows. She liked to play her word search puzzles and loved to read. Lillian loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Edwin liked to travel with the family, especially going out West and visiting a home that they had in Merrill for about 20 years.

Funeral service will be Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 623 Congress Drive, Newburg. Interment at Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation at the church Friday from noon until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Lutheran Church appreciated.
