Rose P. Wheeler, 96
Rose P. Wheeler, 96, Powers, Mich., passed away on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1913, to Stanley and Anna (Fromholtz) Klock in Ashland. On Oct. 29, 1945, she married Robert Wheeler in Great Falls, Mont., while they were both serving in the U.S. Army.
Rose was a member of the Tony Revord American Legion Post 244 and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She loved cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting and socializing with her friends. Rose also loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be remembered by all who knew her for her great Catholic faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Patrick "Doug") Cashin; two grandsons, Robert (Kathleen) Cashin and Daniel Cashin; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Cameron Cashin; one brother-in-law, Francis Wheeler; two sisters-in-law, Alice Becker and Jean Wheeler; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding, with the St. Anne’s Society Rosary at noon. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding with Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. A luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall at the church. Burial will take place in the Spalding Township Cemetery with the Tony Revord American Legion Post 244 assisting with military rites.
