Dorothy J. ‘Dottie’ Schulteis

Dorothy J. “Dottie” Schulteis (nee Kunde), 78, passed away at her residence on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010.

Dottie was born on Oct. 22, 1931, to Hubert and Florence (nee Gedlinske) Kunde in Ripon where she was born and raised. She graduated from Ripon High School and worked until she married Willard Schulteis on April 14, 1956, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Milwaukee. After marriage, Willard and Dottie lived in Milwaukee, Hubertus and then again in Milwaukee where they began the American Way Driving School and started their family. Dottie enjoyed crocheting, knitting and was an avid Elvis fan. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dottie is survived by her children, David of Milwaukee, Bonnie (Phil) Hetzel of West Bend, Susan Yeaman of West Bend, Thomas (Sheri) of Texas, John (Jennifer) of West Bend, Jacob (Kyelle Kesy) of West Bend; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters, Carol (Kenneth) Wittchow, Jean (Jerry) Schueller, Marilyn Kurtz and Ann (Arthur) Wienke; sisters-in-law, Bernice Lange and Geraldine (Lawrence) Gray; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Dottie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard; and great-grandson, Elijah Peters.

A funeral service for Dottie will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home only from 4 p.m. until time of service. Interment of ashes will take place at St. Hubert Cemetery.

The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.
