David ‘Poncho’ Boegel, 59
David
"Poncho" Boegel, 59, of the town of Ashford, passed away
peacefully Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at his home after a long battle with
cancer.
He was born May 9, 1951, in Fond du Lac, the son of Raymond and Grace Volm
Boegel. On Dec. 2, 1972, he married Nancy M. Hagner at St. Kilian Catholic
Church in St. Kilian. David worked as a carpenter and construction worker
and operated the St. Kilian Bar for a number of years. He was a member
Ashford and Campbellsport Sportsman Clubs and served as president of
Catholic Knights Branch 113. Poncho enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting
and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren and taking
scenic rides.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; his children, Jerry (Vicky) Boegel,
David (Amy Schultz) Boegel, both of Campbellsport, and Shelly (Jeff) O’Connor
of Armstrong; his mother, Grace of Campbellsport; his grandchildren, Josh,
Brendon, Miranda, Logan and Olivia, Collin, Seth and Kendall, Hunter and
Clayton; his sisters, Mary (Bob) Twohig of Campbellsport, Dorothy (Rich)
Leider of DePere, Margie (Ronie) Stommel of Theresa, Cathy (Tim) Flood of
Mt. Calvary, Pauline (Gary) Runge of Fond du Lac and Geralyn (Ray) Maurer
of Oshkosh; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leo and Diane Hagner
of New Lisbon, Vi and Hank Braatz of Richfield, Joy and Rick Haynes of
Texas, Ralph and Laura Hagner of Allenton, Mary and Dan Shepherd of
Wisconsin Rapids and Marie and Tom Papez of West Bend; many nieces;
nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; his in-laws, Oscar and
Olive Hagner; his brother-in-law, Ed Hagner; his nephew, Brian Leider; and
his cousin, Jeff Schrauth.
Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. at St.
Kilian Catholic Church, N189 County Road W, Campbellsport. The Rev. Neil
Zinthefer will officiate and burial will be Friday in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 p.m. until time of mass at the church.
