Julissa Mary Murphy, 19, of Elkhart, Ind., went to be with Jesus suddenly on Sept. 19, 2010, at Purdue University.

She was born to Sean and Sharon (nee Kurer) Murphy on Dec. 13, 1990, in Chicago.

She is survived by her parents, sean and Sharon Murphy of Elkhart; two brothers, Noah and Isaac, all at home; a sister, Tiana, also at home; grandparents Don and Dorothy Kurer of Allenton and Dale Murphy of Colorado; and many uncles; aunts and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Murphy.

Julissa was a 2009 graduate of Concord High School and was a member of the Concord Marching Band color guard. She was on the student council and a member of the National Honor Society. She was a sophomore at Purdue University, on the Dean’s List, majoring in elementary education. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.

The family will receive fridents an hour prior to Friday’s 1 p.m. service at River Oaks Community Church in Goshen. The Rev. Kelvin Smith of Steele Creek Church of Charlotte, N.C., will officiate. Burial will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Goshen.
