Elsie A. Wittenberger, 99
Elsie A. Wittenberger of Cedarburg passed away at the Harrison Home on Sept. 28, 2010, at the age of 99.
Elsie was born on Jan. 15, 1911, in Port Washington, to Otto Schultz and Sena (nee Balbach) Schultz. She later married Harry Wittenberger on Sept. 9, 1939, in Milwaukee. Their marriage was blessed with three children.
Elsie was a longtime member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She also volunteered her time as a 4-H leader in Ozaukee County and also volunteered at Lasata for many years. Elsie was also a member of the Homemakers Club in Ozaukee County.
Elsie is survived by her children, Fern (Marvin) Kannenberg of Cedarburg and the Rev. Denis (Barbara) Wittenberger of Ohio; grandchildren, Holly (Kevin) Marshall, Nowell Kannenberg, and Kristin (Brad) Holz; great-grandchildren, Kassandra, Mikayla and Kjersten Marshall; and sister, Dorene Knuth. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Wittenberger; and son, Lyle Wittenberger.
A funeral service will take place on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at 3 p.m. at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Visitation will be held Sunday, at the church, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Rev. Wilmer Reichmann will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will take place at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg.
