Betty J. Laufer, 82
Betty J. Laufer (nee Martin), 82, passed away on
Friday, April 8, 2011.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1928, in the town of
Wayne to Phillip and Sylvia (nee Thurk) Martin. Betty married Edward J.
Laufer on Oct. 8, 1949.
Betty worked for 29 years as a dental assistant
for Dr. Bruce Leberecht. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing, knitting,
crocheting and tending to the lilies in her garden. She was a member of
both Holy Angels Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters for
over 62 years.
Betty is survived by her children, Terry Laufer
and Sue (Stan) Schmidt. She is further survived by her sister, Gladys
Giese; sisters-in-law, Eleanore Fischer and Marion Wojtalewicz; and many
other nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Laufer; parents, Phillip and Sylvia Martin; in-laws, Lawrence and
Josephine Laufer, two brothers, Melvin and Ervin Martin; and
brother-in-law, Kenneth Fischer.
A Mass of Christian burial for Betty will be at
6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N.
8th Ave., West Bend, with the Rev. Jerry Brittain presiding. Visitation
will be at the church only on Thursday, April 14, from 4 p.m. until 6:15
p.m. Friends and family will meet at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 15, at Holy
Angels Catholic Cemetery for the committal service.
