James E. ‘Jim’ Spindler
James E. ‘Jim’ Spindler was reunited with his beloved and talented wife Genevieve (nee Spelbring) on April 13, 2011.
He was born in Manitowoc on July 26, 1932 to James and Letty Spindler.
Jim was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy before he graduated from Lawrence University in 1954. He worked 22 years for Revere Copper & Brass Inc. in sales but retired from Robert W. Baird & Co. after 15 years as a stock broker.
Jim was extremely active in his community and was honored to serve as a Washington County Board supervisor for 20 years. He was a member of the Deutschstadt Heritage Foundation of Germantown, Washington County Historical Society and Chamber of Commerce. He represented the village of Germantown and always did what he believed to be in the best interest of the entire county.
Jim was the proud "Pops" of Eugene (Heidi), Jesse and Peter (fiancee Anne Koelbl); special grandpa of Rachel, Rebecca, Justina and Paul; big brother of Christopher (Judy); dear brother-in-law of Lynn and Jane. He was preceded in death by his brothers Frederick and David. Also loved by other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be at the Krause Funeral Home, 7001 W. Brown Deer Road, on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, from 3 to 5:45 p.m. Funeral service at 6 p.m.
