Marguerite E. Lorenz, 87
Marguerite E. Lorenz (nee Kocher), 87, of West Bend, died on Friday, April 15, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital in the town of Polk. She was born on Nov. 27, 1923 in the town of Barton to the late Paul and Sarah (nee McGinnis) Kocher.
Following her marriage to Henry P. Lorenz on Sept. 29, 1943 at Holy Angels Rectory in West Bend, the couple lived on the Lorenz family homestead in the town of West Bend.
In 1966, they moved to West Bend. In addition to caring for her family, she enjoyed bowling, golfing and dancing.
For 20 years, Marguerite worked as a manager for the catalog department of JCPenney.
She was a member of Holy Angels Parish; the Legion of Mary; and Women of the Moose, West Bend Chapter #732.
Survivors include eight children: Henry P. (Pam) of Kingston Springs, Tenn., Thomas (Connie) of Leesburg, Fla., Sandra (Ken) Sponholz of West Bend, Jane (Mark) Jansen of West Bend, Barbara (Clarence) Kertscher of New-burg, Paul (Carol) of West Bend, David (Sue) of Allenton and Mary (Randy) Miller of West Bend; 22 grandchildren; 19 great - grandchildren; one sister Marion Bohn of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 8, 1986, one son Robert, one sister Irene Walter and one brother Robert Kocher.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church only on Tuesday from 4 until 5:45 p.m.
The family has requested memorials to Holy Angels Parish or the Alzheimer's Association of Southeastern Wisconsin.
Marguerite's family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt "thank you" to the nursing staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dr. Nicole Klausmeier and the staff at Hawthorn Manor for the wonderful care she received and the friendship shared with her and her family.
