Franklin R. Novotny, 87

Franklin R. Novotny, 87, of the town of Polk died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Autumn Oaks Assisted Living Center in Slinger. He was born March 15, 1924 in the town of Trenton to the late Frank and Amanda (nee Hembel) Novotny and married Euneva Becker on June 12, 1943 in Richfield.

He was a farmer his entire life. He worked for the Washington County Highway Department for about 30 years.

Franklin is survived by his wife of 67 years, Euneva, two children: Frank (Nancy) of Allenton and Ralph (Linda) of the town of Polk and six grandsons: Eric (Jen), Todd, Adam (Kristin), Tim (Angela), Rick (Mackenzie) and Keith (fiancée Nicole). He is further survived by seven great-grandchildren: Carys, Elise, Caleb, Kaelis, Magden, Anders and Claire, his sister-in-law Joyce (Ken) Herther of Slinger, his brother-in-law Charles Naab of Hartford and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Amanda Novotny, his son Dale, his grandson Tom and two brothers: Harold and Art.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Faith United Church of Christ in Slinger with the Rev. Sharon Stier officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Peace U.C.C. Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, at the church only from 3:30 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Faith United Church of Christ are appreciated.
