Nancy Leigh Raphoon, 78

Nancy Leigh Raphoon (nee Kastenschmidt), 78, passed away peacefully with her family beside her at her home after a lengthy illness. She joins her adored and beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Raphoon, in the arms of Jesus.

Nancy was born on May 23, 1932, in Wausau to Herbert and Alyce (nee Schael) Kastenschmidt. In 1952, Nancy met Bob Raphoon in Wausau. After a brief courtship, they married on Aug. 29, 1952, in Madison. They began a life together traveling the world with Bobís career in the Air Force. They finally settled in West Bend. Over the next 40 years, they built a life of commitment and friendships in the community. Nancy and Bob were longstanding members of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Nancy is the loving and devoted mother of Cynthia (Thomas) Watson of Germantown and Jennifer Ruesch of Greenfield. She is the proud and adoring "Nana" to Katherine and Daniel Ruesch of Greenfield and Benjamin Watson of Germantown. Her grandchildren were the light and life of her soul. She is further survived by her loving brother, Richard Kastenschmidt; sisters, Annette Green, Virginia Tesch and Judith (Ronald) Sherwin; son-inlaw, Bob Ruesch; brother-inlaw, Joseph Raphoon; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; and her parents, Alyce and Herbert Kastenschmidt.

Interment will be a private memorial service with family at her final resting place with her husband Bob at Southern Wisconsin Veteranís Memorial Cemetery.
