M.
M. "Pat" Peterson, 97, of Kewaskum, passed away on Monday, Aug.
1, 2011, at Cedar Lake Health Care Center in the town of West Bend.
She was born on Oct. 11, 1913, in East Sparta, Ohio, the daughter of the
late Ora and Mildred (nee Reigle) Johnson, and on Nov. 12, 1932, she was
united in marriage to Lowell N. "Pete" Peterson in West
Virginia. Pete preceded Pat in death on July 18, 1998.
Pat enjoyed people and many friends.
She was a dedicated American Field Services (AFS) coordinator for over 25
years, serving four times as president of the Kewaskum program. She worked
with many exchange students over the years.
Pat was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum, serving as
a member of the Christian Education Board for a number of years. She was a
Cub Scout Mother. Pat was a member of the West Bend Women’s Club, the
Kewaskum Woman’s Club and the West Bend Country Club, where she played
on the golf team for 19 years. She was also a member of the West Bend Art
Gallery, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra League for over 20 years, the
Moraine Symphony Orchestra, P.E.O.-Eastern Star and was a charter member
of St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.
Pat received recognition for her volunteer service from the AFS Program in
New York and Lake Moraine AFS Chapter. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed
needlepointing.
Those Pat leaves behind to cherish her memory include three sons, F. Lyn
Peterson of Hopatcong, N.J., Kim (Mary Ann) Peterson of Kewaskum and Joel
(Janice) Peterson of Wheeling, Ill.; two grandchildren, Leighton and
Lowell Peterson, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Pat was preceded in death by a
daughter, Joyce; a son, Timothy and two sisters, LaVerle Robinson and
Hazel Ringler.
Funeral services for Pat will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011,
at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. The Rev. Eric Kirkegaard will
officiate and private burial will be in Peace United Church of Christ
cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m.
until 7 p.m.
