Carol M. Potter, 78
Carol M. Potter (nee Wendelborn), 78, of
West Bend, died on Friday, July 29, 2011, at The Kathy Hospice after a
courageous and hard fought 15-year battle with cancer
She was born on Nov. 28, 1932, in West Bend to the late Chester and Louise
(nee Ritger) Wendelborn.
On Feb. 11, 1956, she was united in marriage to Floyd B. Potter in West
Bend. Floyd predeceased March 24, 2007.
In addition to being a fulltime wife and mother, Carol worked in the
kitchen at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital, retiring after more than 20
years. In everything she did, Carol worked very hard to provide for her
family. She also had an easy-going and generous personality that she
shared with her many friends.
Survivors include four children Michael of Mesa, Ariz., Tim (LuAnn) of
Kewaskum, Dave of West Bend and Kay (Andrew) Bromley of Appleton; seven
grandchildren: Jill, Michael, Jr., Toby and Dylan and Matt, Elizabeth and
Molly; one great-grandson Trent; 1 sister and two brothers Eugene
Wendelborn of West Bend, Audrey Brumm of West Bend and Don (LaVerne) of
Shawano; one brother-in-law Bill Wolf of Milwaukee; one sister-in-law
Barbara Provencher of Waukesha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Margaret Ann "Peggy,"
one grandson Anthony and one sister Noraleen Gutterman.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Schmidt Funeral Home on
Saturday, Aug. 6, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral services at
5 p.m.

Carol’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the
oncology department at the Aurora Health Center in Slinger for their
kindness and the great care Carol received from the girls at Cedar
Community and The Kathy Hospice. You will never be forgotten.
