Margaret E. Bliese, 86 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, Aug. 4, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton for Margaret E. Bliese, who passed away peacefully on July 31, 2011, at the age of 86. Father Mike Barrett will officiate the funeral Mass. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral Mass, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice or to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, P.O. Marge was born on July 28, 1925, in Milwaukee, the daughter of John Sullivan and Alice (nee Malone) Sullivan, who both preceded her in death. She graduated from Shorewood High School and later married her first husband, Thomas J. Garrity, on May 3, 1947, in Milwaukee. Their marriage was blessed with five children. After Thomas passed away in 1964, Marge went on to work as a secretary at Grafton High School, where she worked for over 25 years. In October of 1976, Marge married John W. Bliese and was blessed to become part of the Bliese family. Marge was a longtime resident of Grafton and enjoyed her many years working at the high school. She also enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling and gardening. Marge enjoyed all kinds of sports, but she truly loved following her beloved Packers. Marge is survived by her children, Kathy (Steve Jones) Garrity of Florida, Nancy (Rip) Hundt of Grafton, Debbie (DJ Godfrey) Garrity of Kewaskum, Jan Doerr of Mequon, and Tom Garrity of Grafton; brother, Martin (Kathy) Sullivan; step-children, Bob (Sue) Bliese, Bill (Crystal) Bliese, Brian (Robin) Bliese, and Beth Luther; grandchildren, Tim (Cindy) Hundt, Maureen Hundt, Lee (Aline Kubiak) Doerr III, Troy Doerr, Riley Doerr, TJ Garrity, Matt Garrity, Kim (Tony) O’Brien, Steve Jones Jr. and Jeff Jones; great-grandchildren, Alivia Hundt, Ashlyn Hundt, Tristin Hundt, Erika O’Brien, and Nick O’Brien. She is further survived by step-grandchildren, step-great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Marge was preceded in death by her former husbands, Thomas J. Garrity and John W. Bliese, and siblings, Donald Sullivan, Patricia Novak and John Sullivan. Marge’s family sincerely wishes to thank Dr. Daniel Jablonski and the staff at Cedar Mills Medical, the Community Physicians and staff at Columbia St. Mary’s and Horizon Home Care & Hospice. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Comfort Keepers and the staff at Lasata Crossings Assisted Living where Marge resided this past year. |
