Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ L. Kranz, 59
"Jeff" L. Kranz, 59, of Monticello, formerly of Jackson, passed
away on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011.
Jeff was born on Feb. 26, 1952, in Milwaukee to Baldwin E. and June R.
(nee Joeckel) Kranz, Jr. Jeff was raised in the Jackson area until he
moved to start college at UW-Whitewater.
He married Chris Arentsen on June 18, 1977, at Lake Edge United Church of
Christ in Madison. After college, his first job was at Smith and Gesteland
where he was a CPA for 11 years. His next place of work was Eggimann Truck
Parts and Service where he worked as a CPA for four years. In 1989, Jeff
began working at Mapping Specialists where he eventually took over the
business. He sold the company and retired in January of 2009. Jeff was a
member of the UW-Whitewater Foundation Board from 2001-2010.
Jeff was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a sport enthusiast with
a love for the Packers and the Brewers. Jeff loved to spend time at his
condo in Cable where he enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and golfing.
Jeff is survived by his wife Chris; and children Rich and Kimberly. He is
further survived by his mother June Kranz-Day; sister Patrice Burmeister;
brother Gary; father-in-law James (Dorothy) Arentsen; brothers-in-law Mark
(Maribeth) and Kurt (Cathy) Arentsen; and many other nieces, nephews,
other relatives, and dear friends. Jeff is preceded in death by his father

A funeral service for Jeff will be at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at
New Hope United Church of Christ, 5360 Jackson Drive in Jackson.
Visitation will be at the church only on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, from 1 p.m.
until 4:45 p.m. Interment will take place on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at 10
a.m. at New Hope UCC Cemetery in Jackson.
