Amelia A. Schmitz, 18
A. Schmitz passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011 at the age of
Amelia was born on April 16, 1993 in Menomonee Falls to Lawrin and Kim
(nee Panetti) Schmitz. She was a 2011 graduate of Germantown High School.
Amelia was a parking attendant at Holy Hill Basilica and was a Kids Klub
Leader at the Germantown Recreation Department. She also volunteered at
the Washington County Humane Society. Amelia loved photography and music.
She not only played the flute for over seven years, but she also played
the drums with her grandpa at the Concertina Festival in Allenton. Amelia
was also a loyal Green Bay Packers fan.
Amelia loved her family. She enjoyed playing with her cousins and spending
time with them as often as she could. She will be dearly missed by all
those that knew her.
Amelia is survived by her parents Lawrin and Kim (nee Panetti); and
brother Matthew. She is further survived by her grandparents Helen (Mike)
Panetti-Stout (nee Kester) and Charles (Louise nee Schuster) Schmitz;
aunts and uncles Vic (Julie) Panetti III, Mark Panetti, Le-roy (Paula)
Schmitz, Charlene (Jim) Malson, Carol (Michael) Wolf, Lavern (Irene)
Schmitz, Leon (Kimm) Schmitz, and Christine (Bill) Burg; and many other
relatives and dear friends. Amelia is preceded in death by her grandpa Vic
Panetti, Jr. and her dog Peggy.
A funeral service for Amelia will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011,
at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive in West Bend
with Fr. Loyola Amalraj presiding. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6:45
p.m. at the funeral home only on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011. Friends and family
will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Washington County
Memorial Park. Memorials are appreciated to the Washington County Humane
Society, 3650 Highway 60, Slinger, WI 53086-9309.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the New
London and Washington County police departments for the compassion and
efficiency during this time.
