Karen R. Gehring, 65

Karen R. Gehring (nee Freiman), 65, passed away peacefully at Cedar Lake Rehabilitation Center, West Bend, on Aug. 12, 2011. Karen died from glioblastoma.

Karen was born Nov. 3, 1945 to Otto and Marcella "Sally" (nee Christ) Freiman. She was united in marriage to Edward Geh-ring on Oct. 21, 1967, at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford.

Karen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved to work in her flower gardens. The gardens were never nice enough for her, but now she is among the best. She also enjoyed reading, knitting and traveling. Karenís last trip to Yosemite National Park was her favorite as she walked among the giant sequoia and redwood trees.

Karen is survived by her husband, Edward, and sons, Matthew, Mark (Gina) and Lawrence (Tami), and six grandchildren, Courtney, Monica, Sophia, Emma, Ethan and Brady.

Karen was an only child so she considered all her inlaws as her brothers and sisters. They are Carol (Richard) Skowlund, Andrew (Linda) Gehring, Cecilia (Charles) Gehring, Marilynn Schwartz, Stephen (Carol) Gehring, Gregory (Karen) Gehring, Philip (Lorri) Gehring, Ann (Richard) Wolfe, Christine (Randy) Lorrigan. She is also survived by her beloved aunts and uncle, Rose Lechner, Lorraine Stucke, Delores Margelofsky and Marvin (Shirley) Christ, as well as nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, Andrew and Anna Gehring; and her brother-in-law, Charles Gehring.

Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday Aug. 16, 2011 at 7 p.m. at St Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford with Father David LaPlante officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church only on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. Mass.

Interment St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
