Lawrence Otte, 84, of Hartford, passed away peacefully at the Hartford Care Center on Monday, Aug. 15, 2011.

Lawrence was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Richfield to Walter and Emma (nee Dieball) Otte. He was united in marriage to Marion Huegli on Sept. 18, 1948, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Neosho.

Lawrence loved to camp, garden, golf, woodwork and especially being outdoors. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Above all he dearly loved his family.

Lawrence is survived by his children Nancy (Larry) Gerbitz of Hartford, Roger (Sheryl) Otte of Lomira, Linda (Ole) Albertson of Neosho, David (Emily) Otte of Hartford, Sue (Earl) Seeber of Watertown, Randy (Dorothy) Otte of Fargo, ND and Brian (Beth) Otte of Hartford; 17 grandchildren Jim (Becci) Gerbitz, Amy (Tony) Matenaer, Jenny Gerbitz, Melanie (Dave) Wiese, Lisa (Steve) Michaels, Dakota Albertson, Jeremy (Julie) Otte, Heidi (Scott) Kuechler, Mike Wasley, Mark (Lisa) Wasley, Jessica, Justin Seeber, Randall, Emmaline Otte, Doug, Dalton and Dakota Otte.

Eighteen great grandchildren; Tanner, Carson, Reece, Damian, Zachary, Steven, Bradley, Sahara, Cody, Joshua, Ben, Peter, Brady, Easton, Kayla, Garrett, Taylor, Alyssa; brothers Clarence (Mary Ann) and Donald (Marlene) Otte; son-in-law Sam Wasley of Hartford; and his sister-inlaw Shirley Huegli.

Further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marion, daughter Cindy, grandson Christopher and granddaughters Michelle and Shelly, and brother Norman.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at 10 a.m. with visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Peace Lutheran Church, 1001 Center St., Hartford. with Pastor Jeremy Husby officiating.

Family will greet friends and family on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home.

Interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
