Sally S. Pence, 54 Sally S. Pence passed away peacefully at her home in Port Washington on Saturday Aug. 13, 2011, at the age of 54. Sally was born in Milwaukee on April 27, 1957, to Thomas and Phylis (nee Scribner), and married Bill Pence on Oct. 17, 1981, in Elkart Lake. Sally was born in Milwaukee but raised in the Pueblo and Breckenridge, Colo., area, where she graduated from Colorado Mountain College with a degree in design art. She also was an avid skier and racer. She was a member of the Breckenridge Ski Team, she hiked most of the peaks in Colorado and she had a phenomenal sense of direction. She loved the outdoors ,especially fishing the Canadian wilderness lakes with her husband, Bill, and spending time at their off-grid camp in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Bill and Sally were the proud owners of Grafton Ski & Cyclery. Sally had an extraordinary business skill, growing Grafton Ski & Cyclery into one of the Midwest’s premier ski shops. She also had a phenomenal photographic memory that helped her select the most interesting clothing with certain customers in mind. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Bill, of Port Washington; her father, Thomas, of Sheboygan; her mother-in-law, Dolores Stone, of Ripon; brother-in-law, Ken (Connie) Pence, of Fort Atkinson; and sister-in-law, Cindy (Dave) Mayer, of Watertown. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, and two brothers, Paul and Charles "Chip" Seymour. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, at 4 p.m. at the Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory 979 N. Green Bay Road, Grafton. Visitation will be held Saturday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice are appreciated.
