Robert N. Pfeifer of Hartford, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at the age of 68 after a hardfought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Robert was born on Sept. 2, 1942, in Hartford to George and Frances (nee Breuer) Pfeifer. Bob was united in marriage to Cecile Brath on July 10, 1965, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Woodland.

Robert worked for the Gehl Company in West Bend for 43 years before his retirement in June 2005. He was an avid sports fan, especially when his grandkids were playing. He also enjoyed playing sheepshead with his family and friends, golfing, and fishing. He loved taking care of his beautiful yard, especially his grass, and his beloved pets, Libby, Katy and Eggy.

So many people whose lives he touched in some way will dearly miss him.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Cecile of 46 years; his children Victoria (Chris) Tamborino, Robert G. (Tracey) and Timothy (Kim) Pfeifer; grandchildren Vince Tamborino, Dustin, Brett, Hannah, Paige, Shane and Megan Pfeifer. He is further survived by his sisters Elizabeth (Duane) Gundrum, Mary (Anthony) Feucht, Diane (Robert) Hechimovich; sister-in law Marion Pfeifer and his nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Frances, his brothers Donald (Dorothy), William, sisters Rosella (Leroy) Ralph and Emily (Walter) Ralph.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert will be held Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at 7 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4886 Highway 175, St. Lawrence with Fr. Joseph Dominic officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 3 p.m. until the Mass at 7 p.m.

Interment at St. Lawrence Cemetery on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at 10 a.m.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jella and the nursing staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center and the staff at the Aurora Visiting Nurses Association.
